Friday 1st April marks the commencement of public sector operation of ScotRail with the transfer from Abellio ScotRail to ScotRail Trains Ltd - a subsidiary of Scottish Rail Holdings an arms length holding company under Transport Scotland.

Unlike the launch of Abellio ScotRail this looks to be a rather low key affair, no promises of new intercity services, new website, there was the promised transformation of the 'Great Scenic Railways of Scotland', even the 158 franchise commitment for the West Highland Line was not delivered.
The revolution in rail timetable enhancements that were promised have been replaced by a reduced service post pandemic.
All that's changed on the website is the disappearance of the ScotRail is operated by Abellio logo.
